Founded in 1985, the studio creates masterful solutions for commercial and residential projects, adaptations of historic properties and high-profile exhibition work. Its Principals, Robert Goldberg and Glen Hodges, specialize in projects for the hospitality industry including master planning for hotels and end-destination resorts. |
ROBERT GOLDBERG is licensed to practice
architecture in New York, earned National Accreditation in 1985 and holds
a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Pratt Institute. He spreads
his practice between commercial projects for corporate and professional
offices, the hospitality industry and major financial institutions, as
well as brownstones, apartments, lofts and other residential design including
more than 1,700 units of multi-family housing. Mr. Goldberg chaired the Art & Architecture
Committee of the New York Chapter of the American Institute of Architects
for 9 years where he orchestrated seminars, exhibitions, lectures and
tours. He served for 7 years as Program Director of the US Business
Council for Southeastern Europe, a not-for-profit corporation promoting
trade and investment. |

GLEN HODGES holds a Bachelor of Arts
degree from Antioch College and a Masters of Architecture degree from
Yale University. He leverages extensive international research and
travel throughout Europe, North Africa, Asia and the Pacific to provide
a panoramic perspective of world class design. Mr. Hodges is a member
of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Mr. Hodges' work has been published in Progressive
Architecture, New York Magazine and in the book Supermannerism
by C. Ray Smith. He participated in and is credited in Learning
From Las Vegas by Venturi, Scott-Brown and Izenour. Mr. Hodges
was the Business Manager of Perspecta 12 and a Contributing
Editor of Perspecta 13/14, the Yale Architectural Journal,
one of the most respected publications in its field.

TOGETHER AND SEPARATELY, Mr. Goldberg and Mr.
Hodges have participated in projects for Cummins Engine Company, the City
of Columbus Indiana, Chemical Bank, Equitable Bank, JP Morgan Bank, Xerox
Corporation, Knoll International and other distinguished clients. Exhibition
designs include the Okinawa Oceanographic World's Fair, the "Inside Show"
Observation Deck at the World Trade Center in New York, the Smithsonian's
150th Anniversary Show and an award winning exhibit for
Sony Corporation at COMDEX in Las Vegas. Hospitality projects include the interiors of
the Great Wall Hotel in Beijing, the Charlottesville Virginia Hilton,
and the Hotel Portland and Mayflower Hotel in New York. GSquare
has developed master plans for the historic Bird & Bottle Inn in Garrison,
New York, Castle Krumperk in Domzale, Slovenia and Hotel Sveti Vlaho inside
the walls of the Old City of Dubrovnik. |
